Inside the numbers:

Just 51% of Rhode Island Republicans support Robitaille, while 40% of the state’s Democrats back Caprio. Twenty-two percent (22%) of GOP voters and 37% of Democrats favor Chafee. Among voters not affiliated with either major party, 33% support the Independent, 26% the Republican and 23% the Democrat.
