Survey of 500 likely voters was conducted May 7, 2012. The margin of error is +/- 4.5 percentage points. Results from the poll conducted April 9, 2012 are in square brackets.  Results from the poll conducted February 29, 2012 are in parentheses.
Inside the numbers:
The president leads by nine points among male voters and holds a sizable two-to-one lead among female voters. Obama also leads in all age demographic categories.

While Obama claims 90% support among Massachusetts voters in his own party, just 69% of the state’s Republicans back Romney. Voters not affiliated with either of the major parties prefer the president by four points.
