Survey of 450 likely voters was conducted May 2, 2012. The margin of error is +/- 4.5 percentage points.  Results from the poll conducted April 2, 2012 are in square brackets.  Results from the poll conducted February 22, 2012 are in parentheses.
Inside the numbers:
Romney holds a modest advantage over the president among both male and female voters in Montana. The Republican also leads among voters ages 18 to 39 which typically is not the case in other states.

Among voters not affiliated with either political party, Romney's ahead by 20 points.

Most married voters support the Republican, while most unmarrieds prefer the Democrat.
