Poll Watch: Gallup 2012 Presidential Survey

Gallup 2012 Presidential Poll

I'm going to read a list of five candidates for president who may appear on the ballot in a significant number of states this November. Supposing that all of these candidates were on the ballot in your state, which one would you be most likely to vote for -- Barack Obama, the Democratic candidate, Mitt Romney, the Republican candidate, Gary Johnson, the Libertarian Party candidate, Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate, Virgil Goode, the Constitution Party candidate, or will you be voting for someone else?
  • Barack Obama (D) 50% (47%)
  • Mitt Romney (R) 43% (40%)
  • Jill Stein (G) 1% (1%)
  • Gary Johnson (L) 1% (3%)
  • Virgil Goode (C) 1% (0%)
  • Other 1% (1%)
  • Won't vote (vol.) 1% (5%)
  • No opinion 3% (2%)
Survey of 923 registered voters was conducted September 6-9, 2012. The margin of error is ±4 percentage points. Results from the poll conducted June 7-10, 2012 are in parentheses.
