Rasmussen (R) New Mexico 2012 Senate Poll
Inside the numbers:
- Martin Heinrich (D) 46% (45%)
- Heather Wilson (R) 42% (43%)
- Heather Wilson (R) 43% (44%)
- Hector Balderas (D) 42% (44%)
Inside the numbers:
Wilson holds similar single-digit leads in both matchups among men in the state. While Heinrich leads Wilson 53% to 38% among women, Balderas holds a more modest three-point edge.
Both matchups are essentially tossups among voters not affiliated with either political party.
Heinrich and Balderas post sizable leads over Wilson among Hispanic voters in the state, while Wilson leads among whites and voters of other races.
Wilson is viewed very favorably by 24% of New Mexico voters and very unfavorably by 20%, a slight improvement from the last survey. Meanwhile, Heinrich’s reviews are 16% very favorable, 21% very unfavorable, a bit less positive than they were in February.
Balderas, who was a state legislator prior to serving as state auditor, is the least known of the potential candidates. Twelve percent (12%) view him very favorably, while 16% view regard him very unfavorably. These numbers are identical to those measured in February.
