National survey of 1,000 likely voters was conducted July 23-24, 2012. The margin of error is +/- 3 percentage points.  Results from the poll conducted June 11-12, 2012 are in parentheses.  Results from the poll conducted May 10-11, 2012 are in square brackets.  Results from the poll conducted April 10-11, 2012 are in curly brackets.  Results from the poll conducted March 1-2, 2012 are in parentheses.  Results from the poll conducted January 13-14, 2012 are in square brackets.

Inside the numbers:
The partisan division on these questions is predictable, with roughly 80% of voters in each political party showing more confidence in their party’s representative. Voters not affiliated with either party give Romney double-digit leads in every area but one, health care, where he leads by nine. By a 52% to 35% margin, unaffiliated voters trust Romney more than Obama when it comes to the economy.
