    Survey of 500 likely voters was conducted March 20, 2012. The margin of error is +/- 4.5 percentage points.  Results from the poll conducted February 21, 2012 are in square brackets.  Results from the poll conducted September 28, 2011 are in parentheses. 

    Inside the numbers:
    Kaine earns 91% support among Democrats, while Allen picks up 86% of the GOP vote.

    The Republican leads among married voters by a 54% to 39% margin, but trails Kaine among voters who are not married 55% to 28%.

    Kaine is viewed very favorably by 22% of Virginia voters and very unfavorably by 19%. Seventeen percent (17%) share a very favorable opinion of Allen, while 25% regard him very unfavorably.
