Inside the numbers:
While 81% of Republicans feel Ryan is better qualified, just 74% of Democrats feel that way about Biden. Voters not affiliated with either major political party are fairly evenly divided.
Despite Democratic criticism of Ryan’s Medicare reform proposal, the Republican leads Biden handily among voters 65 and older on the question of who is better qualified to serve as president. Younger voters, however, give the edge to the Democrat.
Ryan leads by seven points among male voters but trails by three among female voters.
