Survey of 500 likely voters was conducted September 22, 2010.  The margin of error is +/- 4.5 percentage points.  Party ID breakdown: 47% Republican; 26% Democrat; 27% Independent/Other.  Results from the poll conducted August 25, 2010 are in curly brackets.  Results from the poll conducted July 29, 2010 are in square brackets.  Results from the poll conducted June 10, 2010 are in parentheses. 

Inside the numbers:

DeMint earns 90% of the Republican vote in the state, while Greene receives support from only 55% of Democrats.  Among voters not affiliated with either political party, the incumbent leads his Democratic challenger by a four-to-one margin.
Greene, an African-American, captures 56% of the black vote. Seventy-nine (79%) of whites favor DeMint.
