Inside the numbers:

McMahon has the backing of 90% of Connecticut Republicans, while Murphy draws 79% of the Democratic vote. McMahon leads the Democrat 55% to 31% among voters not affiliated with either major party.

The Republican leads by 15 points among male voters but trails by seven among female voters.
