Survey of 500 likely voters was conducted September 17, 2012. The margin of error is +/- 4.5 percentage points.  Results from the poll conducted August 6, 2012 are in square brackets.  Results from the poll conducted June 6, 2012 are in parentheses.
Inside the numbers:
As in many other states, Romney's strongest support is among voters 65 and older. Younger voters here are more narrowly divided.
Both candidates earn more than 90% support from voters in their respective political parties. Among voters not affiliated with either of those parties, Romney holds a slight 43% to 39% advantage.

When Colorado voters are asked which candidate they trust more on five key issues in the race, Obama leads Romney by slight margins on health care, national security, taxes and energy policy. On the economy, the two candidates are tied at 46%.
