Survey of 695 likely Colorado voters was conducted October 28 and 31, 2012. The margin of error is +/- 3.8 percentage points. Party ID: 35% [34%] Democrat; 34% [34%] Republican; 27% [30%] Independent. Results from the poll conducted October 9-10, 2012 are in square brackets.  Results from the poll conducted September 9-12, 2012 are in parentheses.

Inside the numbers:
Most significant in the results, the poll shows Obama winning among people who say they have already cast a ballot, 49 percent to 46 percent. Voters who say they plan to vote before Election Day also swing toward Obama, 45 percent to 42 percent.

Voters planning to cast a ballot on Election Day break for Romney, 47 percent to 42 percent.
In turnout results from the Colorado Secretary of State's office updated through Thursday voting, Republicans are outpacing Democrats in voting early this year, by about 38,000 votes. Unaffiliated voters make up about a quarter of the early votes cast.

According to The Post's poll 59 percent of people surveyed say they have already voted and another 21 percent say they will vote before Election Day. Only 18 percent say they plan to cast a ballot on Tuesday.
