Inside the numbers:
Men give Gingrich a modest 46% to 42% edge over Obama, while women favor the president by 22 points.

Voters not affiliated with either major political party prefer Obama 45% to 35%.

Gingrich is heavily favored by Tea Party voters, while Obama has a large lead among those not affiliated with the movement.

While the president draws strong support from labor union members, he also leads Gingrich 47% to 41% among those who are not unionized.
