Inside the numbers:
Male voters favor Obama by a slight 43% to 41% margin, while females give the president a wider 48% to 36% advantage.

Voters not affiliated with either major political party prefer Obama 43% to 32%.

Gingrich is heavily favored by Tea Party voters, while Obama leads among those not affiliated with the movement.

The president has the support of 52% of union members and also leads Gingrich 45% to 39% among those who are not in a union.
