Poll Watch: Rasmussen 2012 Presidential Survey

Rasmussen 2012 Presidential Poll

Survey of 1,000 likely voters was conducted January 17-18, 2012.  The margin of error is +/- 3 percentage points.  Results from the poll conducted January 5-6, 2012 are in square brackets.  Results from the poll conducted December 16-17, 2011 are in parentheses.  Results from the poll conducted October 2-3, 2011 are in curly brackets.  Results from the poll conducted July 10-11, 2011 are in square brackets.  
Inside the numbers:
Women favor the president over Santorum 53% to 34%, but men are evenly divided between the candidates.

Obama leads Santorum 47% to 30% among voters not affiliated with either major political party.

Santorum earns 70% support from conservative voters, while 60% of moderates and 87% of liberals prefer the incumbent.

The president is ahead of Santorum by double digits among both government employees and those who work for private companies.
