Rasmussen 2012 Presidential Survey
Survey of 1,000 likely voters was conducted September 12-13, 2011. The margin of error is +/- 3 percentage points. Results from the poll conducted August 27-28, 2011 are in parentheses. - Barack Obama 46% (46%) {43%} [46%] (49%)
- Michele Bachmann 33% (38%) {39%} [39%] (27%)
Inside the numbers:
Bachmann trails Obama by nine percentage points among men and by 17 among women. She trails badly among voters under 40, trails slightly among those 40-64, and holds a very modest edge among those 65 and older.
Most alarming for the congresswoman, she currently earns only 63% of the Republican vote. By comparison, the president attracts 86% support among Democrats.
Twenty-five percent (25%) of GOP voters would either opt for some other candidate or are not sure in an Obama-Bachmann contest.
