      National survey of 1,000 likely GOP primary voters was conducted September 19, 2011. The margin of error is +/- 3 percentage points.  Results from the poll conducted August 15, 2011 are in curly brackets.  Results from the poll conducted July 28, 2011 are in square brackets.  Results from the poll conducted June 14, 2011 are in parentheses. Results from the poll conducted April 26, 2011 are in curly brackets.  Results from the poll conducted January 18, 2011 are in square brackets.  Results from the poll conducted November 1, 2010 are in parentheses.

      Inside the numbers:
      Among conservative GOP primary voters, Perry leads by nine. Among moderates, Romney leads by 12. 
      Perry is supported by 36% of Evangelical Christian voters along with 31% of Catholic voters. Romney is backed by a plurality (31%) of Protestant voters. 
      Seventy-five percent (75%) share a favorable opinion of Romney, while 73% feel that way about Perry. But Perry’s support is more enthusiastic-- 33% have a Very Favorable impression of him while just 23% say the same about the man from Massachusetts. 
      Sixty-five percent (65%) have a favorable opinion of Bachmann, down from 71% in August. 
      Paul is viewed favorably by 41% and unfavorably by 50%.
