Voters not affiliated with either major party favor Romney by 14 points, 51% to 37%.
Romney leads among married voters and those with children in the home. The president is ahead among those who are not married and voters who don’t have children living with them.
Missouri voters trust Romney more than Obama by a 12-point margin – 54% to 42% - when it comes to handling the economy, and a plurality (46%) thinks the economy will get better if Romney is elected and the GOP takes full control of Congress. Thirty-eight percent (38%) expect a better economy if the president is reelected and Democrats regain control of Congress. Forty-seven percent (47%) think the economy will get worse if Obama wins, and 36% say the same of a Romney victory.
