Survey of 500 likely Montana voters was conducted February 22, 2012. The margin of error is +/- 4.5 percentage points.

Inside the numbers:

Both candidates earn sizable support from their respective parties. Among voters not affiliated with either political party, Rehberg leads Tester by a 10-point margin, 48% to 38%. Male voters in Montana favor Rehberg 50% to 41%, but female voters are evenly divided.

Twenty-four percent (24%) of Montana voters have a Very Favorable opinion of Tester, while 23% view him Very Unfavorably. 

Rehberg is seen Very Favorably by 25% and Very Unfavorably by 25%.
