Inside the numbers:
Unchanged from a week ago are the 86% of Ohio voters who say they have already made up their minds how they will vote. Among these voters, it’s Obama 50%, Romney 49%.
Also unchanged are the 94% who say they are certain to vote in this election, and the candidates are tied among these voters at 49% apiece.
When it comes to which candidate Ohio voters trust more to deal with the economy, Romney now leads the president 50% to 44%. A week ago, the GOP challenger had a narrower 49% to 46% lead in this area. The candidates remain even in terms of voter trust in the area of national security.
But by a 54% to 38% margin, voters in Ohio think the president better understands the issues of the middle class.
Sixty-six percent (66%) of Ohio voters are excited about the choice between Obama and Romney, while 27% say they will simply be voting for the lesser of two evils.
Fifty-one percent (51%) of voters in the state expect Obama to win, while 38% think Romney will come out on top.
Forty-eight percent (48%) would turn to the president for advice if they had to make the toughest decision of their life. Forty-four percent (44%) would ask Romney instead.
