• Heather Wilson (R) 39% {41%} [42%] (43%)

Survey of 500 likely voters was conducted September 27, 2012. The margin of error is +/- 4.5 percentage points.  Results from the poll conducted August 21, 2012 are in curly brackets. Results from the poll conducted April 3, 2012 are in square brackets.  Results from the poll conducted February 14, 2012 are in parentheses.

Inside the numbers:

Fifty-three percent (53%) of voters in the state have at least a somewhat favorable impression of Heinrich, while 37% view him unfavorably. That includes Very Favorables of 29% and Very Unfavorables of 24%.

By comparison, 45% share a favorable opinion of Wilson and 48% view her unfavorably, with Very Favorables of 23% and Very Unfavorables of 30%.

Heinrich leads Wilson among men and women in New Mexico and among all age groups as well.

Among voters not affiliated with either political party, it’s Heinrich 52%, Wilson 36%.
